- Ducati releases the second teaser of the 2021 Monster
- To unveiled tomorrow during the final episode of Ducati’s World Premiere
- Likely to be powered by a larger 937cc engine
The majorly updated 2021 edition of Ducati’s iconic Monster offering is all set to be unveiled tomorrow, 2 December 2020. Ahead of the official unveiling, the Italian bike maker has teased the streetfighter for the second time. The new teaser comprises of just the silhouette of the bike, showing off the taut and angular lines running across its body panels.
The spy shots and design sketch of the 2021 Monster had surfaced on the internet a few days back. These images had revealed that it has gone through a major design overhaul with the fuel tank and tail section boasting of sharper lines. However, the signature oval-shaped headlamp has been retained from its predecessor.
Another change it will feature is the new alloy frame, as opposed to the trellis frame which underpins its outgoing version. This is likely to shed some kilos off its overall kerb weight while making it more agile. As for the engine, it’s obvious that it has been revised to comply with the new emission norms. Interestingly, rumours also suggest that the previous 821cc motor has been replaced by a larger 937cc unit, borrowed from the Hypermotard and Multistrada 950. The gases will be emitted through a side-mounted, twin barrel exhaust setup.
After launching it in the international markets this year, expect Ducati to introduce the 2021 Monster in India sometime next year. It will compete against the likes of the Triumph Street Triple RS, Yamaha MT-09 and the KTM 890 Duke.
