- Ducati Monster to arrive at dealerships globally
- Powered by 937cc twin cylinder engine
- Available in three-colour options
Ducati has officially announced that the 2021 Monster will soon arrive at dealerships across the globe. The naked roadster has been the best-selling motorcycle in Ducati's portfolio with over 3,50,000 units sold across the world since its inception.
The 2021 Monster is inspired by the original 1993 philosophy involving a lightweight and sporty design, a potent engine and a superbike-derived frame. It can be seen having a cutting edge design, full LED circular headlamp with DRL, LED indicators, streamlined tail section, narrow seat, muscular tank, 4.3 inch colour TFT display, ABS, DTC, launch control, wheelie control and smart power mode.
Powering the new Monster is a 937cc L-twin Testastretta 11° engine which is 4.5kg lighter them its predecessor. It churns out 109.5bhp of power at 9250rpm and a peak torque of 93Nm at 6500rpm. This engine is coupled to a six-speed transmission which is assisted by a quick shifter and a hydraulic clutch.
The bike runs on 17-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres. For effective braking it uses twin Brembo M4-32 four-piston calipers that grip the 320mm discs at the front. Meanwhile, on the rear it employs a single 245mm disc gripped by a Brembo caliper. The seat height is kept at 820mm which can further lowered to 800mm to suit the shorter riders.
The lineup has two variants on offer, the Monster and Monster plus, available with three-colour options - Ducati Red, Aviator Grey and Dark Stealth. The new Monster is likely to arrive in the Indian market by later this year and is expected to be priced around 11-12 lakh (ex-showroom).
