Ducati has launched the new Multistrada V4 in the Indian market. The adventure tourer will be available in two variants, Multistrada V4 and the V4 S. The Italian two-wheeler manufacturer has priced the V4 at Rs 18.99 lakh while the V4 S is priced at Rs 23.10 lakh ex-showroom (pan-India). The motorcycle is expected to hit the showrooms by early next week. In the meanwhile, to know more about the latest iteration of the adventure tourer, let's take a look at the image gallery of the same.
The new Ducati Multistrada V4 gets an intimidating look with a few sharp elements. It gets a tall windscreen and sharp break upfront, semi-fairing with Ducati and Multistrada graphics on it, underbelly pan, raised exhaust, split seat setup, a rear carrier and a lean tail section. The Multistrada V4 will be available in the Ducati Red paint scheme while the V4 S will be available in two colour options: Ducati Red and Aviator Grey.
The adventure tourer comes equipped with features like all LED cornering lights, Ducati quick shift, cruise control and a fully digital instrument cluster that gets access to navigation, calls and music via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The rider can also connect his smartphone to the TFT dash via the Ducati connect system. The Multistrada V4 gets a five-inch colour TFT display while the V4 S gets a 6.5-inch unit.
The new Multistrada V4 is the first motorcycle in the Indian market to benefit from radar technology. The radar technology manages two functions: adaptive cruise control and blind-spot detection. In India, the radar system will only be available on the V4 S. The Adaptive Cruise Control maintains the set speed and safe distance from the vehicle upfront and it works within the speed limit of 30-160 kmph. Meanwhile, the Blind Spot Detection system alerts the rider through LEDs positioned in the rearview mirrors when it detects a vehicle in the blind spot.
The flagship adventure tourer comes loaded with safety features like Bosch cornering ABS, slipper clutch, vehicle hold control, wheelie control with eight setting levels and cornering traction control which is managed by an inertial measurement unit (IMU).
Powering the new Multistrada V4 is a 90-degree, V4 ‘Granturismo’ four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 168bhp at 10,000rpm and 125Nm at 8750rpm. All this power and torque is taken to its wheels via a six-speed transmission. The maintenance interval for this engine is kept at 15,000km, with valve clearance inspection at every 60,000km.
The ride of the Multistrada V4 is taken care of by Marzocchi adjustable forks at the front and an adjustable mono-shock suspension at the rear. Meanwhile, the Multistrada V4 S is equipped with semi-active Marzocchi suspension controlled by the Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) Evolution system. The braking of the Multistrada V4 is handled by a 320mm dual disc at the front assisted by Brembo front calipers while the Multistrada V4 S is equipped with a 330mm dual disc at the front assisted by Brembo Stylema calipers.
The motorcycle comes equipped with 19-inch wheels at the front and 17-inch wheels at the rear. These wheels are wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Trail tyres having 120mm width at the front and 170mm width at the rear. The company will offer a spoke wheel version in the country later this year. The seat height of the bike is kept at 840mm which can be lowered up to 810mm by opting for an additional accessory seat. The new Multistrada V4 comes with a capacity to load over 230kg.
