Ducati India has announced the launch of the new Streetfighter V4 and the Streetfighter V4S in our market. The flagship naked roadster is available in two variants with prices starting from Rs 19.99 lakh onwards. Here we list the top five highlights of the new Ducati Streetfighter V4.
Design
The new Ducati Streetfighter V4 is based on the company’s flagship supersport model, the Panigale V4. However, unlike the Panigale V4, the Streetfighter V4 naked roadster features upright ergonomics. This has been achieved through the use of a high, wide bar and a moderated footpeg position.
The aggressive design of the motorcycle is complemented by features such as an LED headlight with a V-shaped LED DRL, an LED taillight, a split-style seat, and a single-sided swingarm design. The Streetfighter V4, similar to the Panigale V4, benefits from 'biplane' wings developed by Ducati Corse aerodynamicists. These aerodynamic winglets are claimed to generate 28kg of downforce at 270kmph. The motorcycle tips the weighing scale at 180kg.
Colours
The new Ducati Streetfighter V4 is available in two colour options – Ducati Red and Dark Stealth. The Ducati Red paint option is available on both variants while the Dark Stealth colour is reserved for the Streetfighter V4 S. The base version (Ducati Red) of the motorcycle is available at Rs 19.99 lakh while the V4S (Ducati Red) is available for Rs 22.99 lakh. The V4 S Dark Stealth colour option retails for Rs 23.19 lakh.
Features
The motorcycle comes equipped with a plethora of electronic rider aids that are based on a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit. The electronic aids include three riding modes, ABS Cornering EVO, Ducati Traction Control EVO 2, Ducati Slide Control, Ducati Wheelie Control EVO, Ducati Power Launch, Ducati Quick Shift up/down EVO 2, Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO, and Ducati Electronic Suspension EVO. The cockpit comprises a five-inch full-TFT colour screen that is Ducati Multimedia System (optional accessory) compatible. The Ducati Multimedia System works via Bluetooth and offers access to incoming calls, music, and messages.
Engine
The new Ducati Streetfighter V4 range shares its Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine with the Panigale V4. The 1,103cc, 90-degree V4 engine produces 205bhp of maximum power at 12,750rpm and 123Nm of peak torque at 9,500rpm. The optional, full-racing Ducati Performance exhaust by Akrapovic further increases the power and torque output to 217bhp and 130Nm, respectively, while reducing the weight by six kilograms.
Hardware
The standard Streetfighter V4 comes with 43mm Showa Big Piston Forks (BPF) at the front and a Sachs mono-shock at the back – both fully adjustable. The standard model also gets a Sachs steering damper. The S variant uses Ohlins 43mm NIX-30 front fork, an Ohlins TTX36 rear shock absorber, and an Ohlins event-based steering damper – all electronically adjustable. The suspension and steering damper are controlled by the second-generation Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 system. The anchoring tasks are handled by includes twin, 330mm discs at the front and a single 245mm rotor at the back.
