- Harley-Davidson's limited edition Icons collection
- Electra Glide Revival to be the first bike in the collection
- Only 1500 units to be on sale globally
Harley-Davidson has launched the 2021 Electra Glide Revival. This is their first bike under the Icons collection. It is going to be an individually numbered edition with only 1500 units globally. To bring back the past, HD has planned to revive the older classic models under its Icons collection. They plan to launch a new Icon annually, with more than two bikes in any given year.
The 2021 Electra Glide Revival looks like a bike from the late 60s or early 70s. The bike gets custom paint, Electra Glide Revival badge on the tank and front mudguard, mini ape handlebars, two long exhaust pipes, windshield, mirrors with chrome finish and two storage boxes. A circular headlight and tail-lamp is used to provide a retro classic look.
The revived 1969 classic is loaded with technology like voice recognition, boom box GTS infotainment system, 6.25-inch screen and 5.25 inch speaker. For connectivity, it also gets apple car play, FM, Bluetooth and USB.
Powering the bike is a Milwaukee-Eight 114 which is a 1868cc unit which churns out 95.6bhp of power at 5020rpm and 160Nm of twist at 3250rpm. This engine is paired to a six speed transmission and the ride of the bike is taken care of by 49mm dual bending valve at the front and premium low hand-adjustable suspension on the rear. For effective braking, it employs 32mm, four-piston fixed at front and rear.
The base price of the bike starts at USD 29,199 and there's only one colour combination on offer - Hi-Fi Blue/Birch White. At HD Tomahawk Operations facility they are producing signature colours, designs and parts for the Icons collection. Hands-On human approach is used at the facility to apply paint and graphics to the bikes. The company has not made any official statement about its launch in the Indian market.
