- 2021 Honda CB125R revealed for the international markets
- Gets a Euro5-compliant engine which makes more power now
- India launch unlikely anytime soon
Honda has taken the wraps off the 2021 CB125R for the international markets. The smallest CB naked street bike has received major changes in its engine, not just for Euro5 compliance but also to produce more power than the older model.
In order to obtain more horses despite the increased constraints in emissions, Honda has increased the stroke length of the engine. The bore and stroke sizes now stand at 57.3mm x 48.4mm, as against the previous 58mm x 47.2mm. Resultantly, the power is up by 1.6bhp as the new model churns out 14.7bhp. Meanwhile, the compression ratio has also gone up from 11:1 to 11.3:1. Other elements that are new in the engine are the inlet duct, air cleaner connecter tube and resonator.
Honda has also upgraded the hardware of the CB125R with the inclusion of the top-notch 41mm Showa Big Piston upside down forks at the front. The braking setup has remained unchanged comprising of a 296mm disc with Nissin caliper up front and a 220mm disc at the rear. What else has been left untouched is the ‘Neo Sports Café’ design of the motorcycle which, anyway, is modern and looks fresh.
The Honda CB125R is quite unlikely to make it to the Indian shores as it will be too expensive a proposition for our budget-conscious market.
