Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has introduced the CB500X in the county to rival the likes of Kawasaki Versys 650, Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT, and the Benelli TRK 502. The motorcycle will be imported in the country via the Completely Knocked Down route. It has been priced at Rs 6,87,386 (ex-showroom, Gurugram). The Honda CB500X features a slim design that includes a compact headlight at the front, a semi-fairing, a tall windscreen, a step-up seat, and a sleek rear panel.
The feature list includes a sleek, LED headlight at the front and an LED taillight at the rear. The motorcycle also gets LED turn indicators.
The LCD instrument cluster on the CB500X features a digital speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip meter, real-time and average fuel economy, clock, and engine diagnostic indicators.
The motorcycle rides on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel – both wrapped in tubeless tyres.
Honda will offer the CB500X in two colour options – Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
The electronic rider aids include dual-channel ABS, emergency stop signal, and Honda Ignition Security System.
The CB500X is powered by a 471cc, parallel twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 47bhp at 8,500rpm and 43.2Nm at 6,500rpm. The six-speed transmission benefits from an assist and a slipper clutch mechanism.
The CB500X is built around a diamond-shaped steel-tube mainframe. The hardware on the motorcycle includes 41mm telescopic front forks, preload-adjustable rear mono-shock, and petal-type disc brakes (310mm front/240mm rear) on both wheels.
