- 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R breaks cover
- Gets new styling, electronic aids and features
- Will be launched in India sometime next year
Kawasaki has taken the wraps off the 2021 Ninja ZX-10R equipping the supersport with new features and electronic aids. It also gets a very evident change in styling. And the ‘reverse slant’ design for the front end, which seems to be inspired by the H2, looks radical and will definitely be the talk of the town for a while. The new Ninja ZX-10R also gets LED headlamps that replace the previous model’s conventionally lit unit.
The revisions also include 5mm higher footpegs and a 40mm taller windscreen for better visibility when tucked in. Moreover, Kawasaki has fitted the 2021 Ninja ZX-10R with winglets that are integrated into the cowling and provide 17 percent more downforce than the outgoing model. As for features, the new Ninja ZX-10R comes with a new full-colour, 4.3-inch TFT display that is Bluetooth enabled, three riding modes- Sport, Road and Rain along with four customisable modes, electronic cruise control, five-stage traction control, launch control, cornering ABS and engine brake control.
Speaking of which, revisions to the braking equipment are minor and include new brake pads with a relocated rear brake reservoir. As for the suspension, the Show Balance Free Forks are now fitted onto a lower triple clamp and are tuned for a lower spring rate, softer rebound, and firmer damping.
The 2021 Ninja ZX-10R uses the same 998cc, inline-four cylinder engine that churns out 200bhp at 13,200rpm and 114Nm at 11,400rpm. Although Kawasaki has revised the motor with a new oil cooler, exhaust system, electronic throttle valves and revised gear ratios.
The more performance-focused Ninja ZX-10RR on the other hand gets revised cam shafts, new intake and exhaust valver springs as well as titanium connecting rods that result in a higher rev limit. The RR also gets Marchesini forged wheels wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres and is available only in Lime green colour. The Ninja ZX-10R is offered in Metallic Spark Black with Metallic Matte Carbon Grey and KRT livery.
We can expect Kawasaki to introduce the 2021 Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-10RR in India sometime next year at a substantial premium over the outgoing model which was priced at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
