- Kawasaki unveils 2021 Vulcan S for the international markets
- Gets two new colour schemes
- Grey and Black version already launched in India with the BS6 update
Kawasaki has unveiled the 2021 edition of its middle-weight cruiser, the Vulcan S, for the international markets. The new model has received two new paint schemes – black with blue and a combination of grey and black with red stripes. Notably, the latter has already been launched in India in the BS6 avatar and we expect even the former to come to our shores soon.
Kawasaki has launched the 2021 Vulcan S at Rs 5.79 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. A new paint scheme is the only change it has received, besides a revised BS6-compliant engine. It is powered by a 649cc, parallel-twin motor which churns out 59.1bhp of power and 62.4Nm of peak torque, both of which are slightly lower than the BS4 model. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
On the design front, the Vulcan S boasts of a unique oblong-shaped headlamp and a teardrop-style fuel tank. There’s a red-coloured off-set monoshock along with a swooping rear fender. Giving it a custom look is the blacked out treatment on all of its mechanical components. While the ergonomics of the Vulcan have already been designed to be comfortable, they can be tweaked through the adjustable handlebar, footpegs and seat. Feature-wise, it is pretty basic with a semi-digital console, a conventional headlamp and turn indicators and ABS.
Considering its displacement and purpose, the 2021 Kawasaki Vulcan S competes against the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Harley-Davidson Street 750.
