Kawasaki has launched the 2021 edition of its modern-classic café racer, the Z900 RS Café, in the US. The motorcycle hasn’t received any mechanical changes. However, the cosmetic update is attractive enough to be worthy of a closer look at its pictures. In that case, here are some of the images of the 2021 Z900 RS Café.
Kawasaki has introduced the motorcycle in a new Metallic Diablo Black paint scheme that has replaced the older Pearl Storm Grey colour option.
Unlike the previous model’s black seat, the new iteration gets a dual-tone brown and black seat that goes well with the overall blacked-out theme of the bike. Also, the silver stripes extend up to the headlamp cowl now.
It is a quintessential old-school café racer with a round headlamp sitting amidst a bubble-type fairing. It also gets circular rear view mirrors, a tear drop-shaped fuel tank, and a sleek tail section.
As opposed to other café racers that sport a clip-on handlebar, it gets a single-piece handlebar with marginally rear-set footpegs that result in a slightly sporty riding position.
Propelling the Z900 RS Café is a 948cc, inline four cylinder, 16-valve, liquid-cooled engine that produces 111bhp of power and 98Nm of peak torque.
It gets a six-speed gearbox along with an assist and slipper clutch. Other features include traction control and a switchable dual-channel ABS setup.
The Z900 RS is based on a trellis frame and rides on 17-inch alloy wheels suspended by 41mm upside down forks up front and a horizontal back-link monoshock at the rear. Stopping power comes from dual discs at the front and a single disc at the rear.
