- 2021 KTM 1290 Super Adventure spotted testing
- Sports a beefier bodywork and tweaked hardware
- Equipped with radar-based adaptive cruise control
The 2021 KTM 1290 Super Adventure has been spotted undergoing tests once again. The full-size ADV sports a host of changes which includes a revamped bodywork and hardware package along with a revised engine for cleaner emissions.
The most prominent change in the motorcycle is on the aesthetic front as it boasts of much beefier body panels as compared to the previous edition. Reportedly, KTM has added the bulk in order to facilitate the bike with better aerodynamics, to cover the larger split radiator setup and to maintain an appropriate centre of gravity.
Another evident difference over the existing model is the presence of a larger and chunkier exhaust canister which is due to the changes executed for Euro5 compliance. What’s more, KTM has also tweaked it in terms of hardware by equipping the bike with a thicker swingarm and a new cast aluminum sub-frame. Two versions of the 1290 Super Adventure were spotted, including a road-biased trim with alloy wheels and an adventure-oriented model with spoke wheels.
The spy shots also reveal that KTM has equipped the motorcycle with a radar-based adaptive cruise control system, which we have already seen on previous test mules. While on the move, this setup continuously monitors surrounding elements on the road and notifies the rider about a potential collision. KTM is likely to offer this technology as an option.
In the international markets, the 2021 KTM 1290 Super Adventure is expected to be launched by the end of this year or early-2021. Notably, it is unlikely to come to the Indian shores anytime soon.
