- KTM RC 125 heavily updated for 2021
- Gets new styling, features
- Expected to demand a significant premium
KTM recently took the wraps off the 2021 RC 125 for global markets and the motorcycle is likely to be launched in India this month. The new RC 125 gets significant updates compared to the current model To begin with is the all-new styling that seems to be inspired by the RC8 that has now been discontinued.
While the design is curvier than the current-gen, KTM says that it is much more aerodynamic. The fairing now has more cuts and creases and features a single headlamp unit, unlike the signature dual-projector headlamps. As for features, the international spec-RC 125 is loaded with an LCD instrument cluster like the 250 Adventure. It also gets LED headlamps. However, the RC 125 that will be launched in India is likely to skip out on either of these.
Now, besides the changes to the fairing and features, the 2021 KTM RC 125 is expected to get the same engine and hardware as the current model. So there would be a 124cc, liquid-cooled motor, upside-down forks up front sourced from WP, and a single-channel ABS.
For these updates, we can expect KTM to hike the price of the RC 125 by around Rs 10,000. Currently, the motorcycle retails at Rs 1.80 lakh, ex-showroom. It will take on the Yamaha R15 V3 that is also set to get an update soon.
