Suzuki has revealed the 2021 iteration of the V-Strom 650 XT and the updated model will arrive in the Indian market very soon. In fact, the middleweight adventure tourer has been listed on Suzuki Motorcycle India’s website as “Coming Soon” for quite some time now. While we await an official launch announcement, here we explain all the details about the 2021 Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT.
Design
Suzuki has not revised the styling of the V-Strom 650 XT, although the motorcycle has received new colour options for 2021. The colour palette includes silver paint with blue highlights and rims, black with red highlights, and a white colour option with gold rims. The design, on the other hand, continues to include a vertically-stacked twin-pod headlight, windscreen, semi-fairing, engine cowl, step-up seat, and tubeless-tyre compatible wire-spoke wheels.
Engine
The Euro5-compliant Suzuki V-Strom is powered by a 645cc, V-twin engine that produces 70bhp and 62Nm of peak torque. The power and torque output figures, despite complying with the new, stricter emission norms, are similar to the old model. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Hardware
The rest of the specifications, too, remain identical to the previous version. Thus, the 2021 Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT tips the weighing scale at 216kg. The suspension setup comprises of 43mm telescopic forks at the front and a preload and rebound adjustable mono-shock at the back. The anchoring setup includes twin 320mm discs with two-piston calipers at the front and a single 260mm rotor with a single-piston caliper at the rear. The safety-net includes a dual-channel ABS.
Price
Expect the updated model to carry a price tag of approximately Rs 7.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle competes against the Kawasaki Versys 650 in the Indian market.
