- Triumph Scrambler 1200 range updated for 2021
- Gets Euro 5/BS6 compliant engine
- Cycle parts remain the same
Triumph Motorcycles has launched the 2021 Scrambler 1200 XC and XE in global markets. The line-up also includes a Steve McQueen edition that is limited to 1000 units.
Now, the biggest changes to the 2021 Scrambler 1200 are to the engine and exhaust system to make the motorcycle Euro 5/BS6 compliant. Even with the changes, the Triumph Scrambler 1200’s 1197cc, parallel-twin engine continues to offer 90bhp and 110Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.
Besides the now cleaner engine, the 2021 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC and XE remain the same as before. While the XE gets fully-adjustable 47mm forks with 9.8 inches of travel, the XC comes with 45mm forks that offer 7.9 inches of travel. Both are Showa units. At the rear, the Scrambler 1200s offer Ohlins shocks with similar travel as the front end.
The feature list is also similar however, the TFT display can now be personalized to show the rider’s name during the start-up sequence. The Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC is offered in Jet Black and Matt Black as well as Khaki Green with Brooklands Green while the Scrambler 1200 XE gets Fusion White with Brooklands Green along with Cobalt Blue and Jet Black.
We can expect Triumph to launch the 2021 Scrambler 1200 XC and XE in India sometime soon along with the Steve McQueen edition that will be offered in limited numbers.
