- 2021 Triumph Street Twin unveiled
- Gets new cosmetic elements and a redesigned seat
- Remains unaltered in terms of hardware
Triumph has globally taken the wraps off the 2021 edition of its modern-classic offering, the Street Twin. The motorcycle has received subtle updates while being essentially the same as before.
Starting with the heart of the matter, the 900cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine has been internally tweaked to comply with the new Euro5/BS6 emission norms. In spite of that, there’s no major change in its performance. The 2021 Street Twin produces 65bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 80Nm of peak torque at 3,800rpm. It continues to be mated to a five speed gearbox.
While the neo-retro design of the Street Twin has been retained, it sports small changes like the inclusion of new side panels and decals, foil tank badge and brushed aluminum headlamp brackets. It also incorporates new cast wheels with machined spoke detailing. With an aim to enhance comfort, Triumph has included a redesigned bench seat.
On the hardware front, the 2021 Triumph Street Twin has been left untouched. It is based on a double downtube chassis and rides on an 18-17-inch alloy wheel combination. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear while a single disc with Brembo calipers take care of braking at both ends.
Following the international launch of the 2021 Street Twin, Triumph will launch it in India at a later stage and will price it slightly more than the existing model that retails at Rs 7.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
