TVS Motor Company has updated the Apache RTR 160 4V to make more power over the 2020 model. The latest iteration of the motorcycle also manages to shed two kilograms over the previous Apache RTR 160 4V. We have already brought you a detailed review of the 2021 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and you can read it here. In this article, we bring you the best photographs from the road test report of the 2021 Apache RTR 160 4V.
In terms of design, the 2021 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V retains the styling from the 2020 model. Thus, the motorcycle continues to use the Draken concept-inspired design.
The feature list comprises a full-LED headlight with twin LED DRLs at the front, an LED taillight, a fully-digital instrument cluster, a flat handlebar, and a step-up seat with dual-tone cover.
The instrument cluster records the top speed achieved and the 0-60kmph acceleration timer. However, it misses features such as a gear position indicator and Bluetooth-connectivity.
Similar to the design, the hardware has been carried forward from the 2020 model. The suspension setup, for example, uses telescopic front forks and the rear mono-shock absorber.
The anchoring tasks are handled by a 270mm petal-type disc at the front as standard. The braking setup at the rear is available with either a 130mm drum unit or a 200mm petal-type rotor. The dual-disc variant carries a premium price tag than the single-disc version. Both variants use a single-channel ABS.
The revised 159.7cc, single-cylinder, oil/air-cooled motor on the 2021 model produces 17.4bhp of power and 14.73Nm of peak torque as against 15.6bhp and 14.12Nm on the 2020 version. The engine is linked to a five-speed gearbox.
The 2021 Apache RTR 160 4V returned an overall fuel economy of 41.4kmpl. It features a 12-litre fuel tank which should deliver a range of 497km between fuel stops.
The motorcycle uses TVS Motor Company’s Glide Through Technology (GTT). The motorcycle moves at a maximum speed of 7kmph in the first gear, 12kmph in second, and 17kmph in third.
