- TVS Star City Plus front disc brake variant launched
- Demands a premium of Rs 2,600 over the base model
- Available only in dual-tone red-black paint scheme
For 2021, TVS Motor Company has launched a new front disc brake variant of its 110cc commuter offering, the Star City Plus. Similar to other TVS bikes, this too gets a petal-type disc. With a price tag of Rs 68,465 (ex-showroom, Delhi), it demands a premium of Rs 2,600 over the standard model.
Besides the TVS Star City Plus, the only other 110cc motorcycle which comes equipped with a front disc brake is the Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear. Interestingly, the latter has also been spied recently with single-channel ABS; a feature that was not yet seen in such a small capacity motorcycle.
It should be noted that the front disc brake is available only in Star City Plus’ dual-tone red-black paint scheme. All the other colour variants continue to be equipped with a drum brake at both ends. The motorcycle continues to be the same in all other terms. Powering the Star City Plus is a 109.7cc, air-cooled engine which churns out 8.08bhp of power and 8.7Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a four-speed gearbox.
In terms of purpose, pricing and displacement, the TVS Star City Plus goes up against the Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear, the Hero Splendor iSmart 110 and the Honda Livo.
