Yamaha Motor India has introduced the 2021 edition of its highly popular offering, the FZ FI, in India. The motorcycle has received subtle yet attractive updates which add to its desirability. If you’re planning to buy the new FZ FI soon, here are the things that are new on the bike.
Added features
One of the most interesting feature received by the new FZ FI and FZ S FI is the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X Bluetooth module which was previously available only in the Dark Knight edition of the motorcycle. It gives access to elements like answer back, e-lock, locate my bike, hazard, etc. The new version of the bike also comes equipped with the side-stand engine inhibitor.
Reduced weight
The kerb weight of the Yamaha FZ FI is reduced by two kilograms and it weighs 135kg now. That should make it slightly easier to ride and punchier in acceleration, but we can confirm that only after riding the bike. It’s worth noting that the FZ is now 3.8kg lighter than the Hero Xtreme 160R. Meanwhile, the 149cc, 12.2bhp engine has been left untouched.
Increased price
Following the update, the base FZ FI model, FZ S Vintage and the FZ S Dark Knight editions have received a price hike of Rs 1,000 while the standard shades of the FZ S FI have become Rs 2,500 more expensive. The ex-showroom variant-wise prices of the FZ are mentioned below:
Yamaha FZ FI: Rs 1,03,700
Yamaha FS S FI (base colours): Rs 1,07,200
Yamaha FZ S Vintage Edition: Rs 1,10,700
Yamaha FZ S Dark Knight: Rs 1,08,700
