- Leaked documents reveal details of the 2021 MT-09
- Gets higher displacement and more power
- Could be introduced in India next year
Yamaha is set to launch an updated MT-09 for 2021, a leaked document from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority revealed.
The MT-09 which is otherwise listed as the ‘MTN850’ has now been listed as the ‘MTN890’. This suggests that the streetfighter, which was using a 847cc, inline-three cylinder engine will now be bumped up to 890cc. Moreover, the leaked document also revealed that the 2021 Yamaha MT-09’s Euro 5 motor would produce around 120 horses; a considerable increase from the 112bhp the earlier version offered.
Yamaha is expected to unveil the new MT-09 by the end of this year. And we can expect the motorcycle to make its way to India sometime early in 2021.
