- 2021 Yamaha MT-15 comes with new colours
- Launched in Thailand
- Could get new colours in India too
Yamaha has launched the 2021 MT-15 in Thailand. And the streetfighter gets new colours as part of the update.
Beginning with the Racing Blue paint option, it incorporates blue on the fuel tank and wheels with light grey on the tank shrouds, headlamp cowl and front fender. The Metallic Black colour, as its name suggests comes with a full-blacked out look with contrasting silver graphics on the shrouds. And the funkiest of the lot is the Metallic Grey option. It features a combination of grey with red wheels and hints of blue graphics.
Apart from the new paint options, the Yamaha MT-15 remains the same. It uses the same 155cc, single-cylinder engine as the Indian-spec that is good for 18.5bhp and 14.7Nm. The motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with slipper and assist clutch. However, the Thai model comes with premium components like upside down forks with gold-finished fork bottles as well as an aluminum swingarm. Whereas the MT-15 sold in India makes do with telescopic forks and an box-type swingarm to cut costs.
Nevertheless, we can expect Yamaha to introduce new colour options for the MT-15 in India. In terms of competition, it goes up against the KTM 125 Duke and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
