- Yamaha MT-25 based on R25
- Comes with a 250cc parallel-twin engine
- Unlikely to be launched in India
Yamaha recently launched the updated YZF-R25 in some Asian markets and has now introduced the MT-25 which is the streetfigher version of the faired motorcycle in Indonesia.
The Yamaha MT-25 borrows its styling from the MT-03 which in turn draws inspiration from the bigger MT-07 and MT-09. Hence, it sports a low-slung full-LED headlamp that exudes Yamaha’s Dark Side of Japan styling, an aggressively styled tank shrouds with a muscular fuel tank. Meanwhile, the sharp tail section is similar to the R25. The paint schemes include Matte Grey, Metallic Black and Metallic Blue and are similar to the rest of the MT series.
Powering the Yamaha MT-25 is a 250cc, parallel-twin engine that is capable of churning out 35bhp and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The suspension hardware consists of inverted forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear whereas braking is done by a 298mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc for the rear along with a dual-channel ABS as standard.
Now the Yamaha MT-25 is priced at an equivalent of Rs 2.87 lakh in Indonesia but the motorcycle is unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon as the brand wouldn’t be able to price the motorcycle competitively.
