Yamaha has revealed the Monster Energy MotoGP Edition of the 2021 YZF-R3. The motorcycle, which has been priced at USD 5,599, will be available in the international markets from September 2020 onwards. The MotoGP edition of the YZF-R3 features YZR-M1 inspired paint job that comprises of black and blue shades. The special edition model also gets special livery that comprises of Monster Energy logo and ENEOS decals on the fairing.
The changes, however, are limited to cosmetic upgrades. Rest of the specifications and features remain identical to the standard YZF-R3. Thus, the motorcycle continues to use a 321cc, inline twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The motor is linked to a six-speed transmission.
The feature list on the YZF-R3 Monster Energy MotoGP Edition includes a twin-pod headlight, fairing-mounted rear-view mirrors, a digital instrument cluster, and split-style seats. The suspension setup on the Monster Energy MotoGP Edition, similar to the standard model, includes upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock. Anchoring tasks are performed by a 298mm disc at the front and 220mm rotor at the back, while the safety net includes dual-channel ABS.
Apart from the YZF-R3, Yamaha has also introduced YZF-R1 Petronas edition to celebrate 46 years of Petronas – the main sponsor of the company’s satellite team.
