BMW Motorrad recently launched the 2022 edition of the F 900 XR sport touring motorcycle. For this year, the company has brought only the Pro variant but has priced it almost the same as the previous base model. Although it’s a desirable machine at Rs 12.30 lakh, if you’re still wondering what other options you have around a similar price, here’s the list.
Similar to the F 900 XR, this is also a sport-tourer from Kawasaki but a more affordable one at that. With a price tag of Rs 11.86 lakh, the Ninja 1000 offers a sporty fully-faired styling, a buttery smooth 1,043cc, inline four-cylinder engine, and a comfortable yet slightly aggressive riding position. It produces 140bhp and 111Nm and gets a bunch of rider aids to tame all that power.
The Street Triple RS is inarguably one of the best bikes in its class. It gets high-end components like Showa USDs, Ohlins monoshock, and Brembo brakes. And it’s powered by a 765cc, inline-three engine that makes 121bhp and 78.6Nm. Even the list of electronic aids is as comprehensive as you would expect from a bike in this segment.
Priced at Rs 12.06 lakh (Pro), the DucatiMonster closely competes against the Street Triple RS. We recently rode the motorcycle and were profoundly impressed with its ballistic performance, agile handling, compact dimensions, and the electronic gizmos which work like a charm. Pumping out 111bhp and 93Nm, not only is it more powerful than its predecessor but is also as much as 18kg lighter now!
Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster
If you’re more of a relaxed cruising kind of person, the Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster is a great option. The highlight of the bike is its 1,200, twin-cylinder engine which offers gallops of low-end torque to chug along and pull off overtakes on the highway effortlessly. Typical of a retro-styled cruiser, it isn’t loaded with a lot of features, but rather intends to deliver an old-school charm in a refined and finished manner.
