BMW Motorrad recently brought the 2022, BS6-compliant edition of the F850 GS to India. The middle-weight adventure touring motorcycle has not only become more desirable in terms of equipment but also on the pricing front. Interestingly, we were recently flown down to Kerala by BMW to test the bike’s mettle on the road and off it and you can read all about the ride here. Now, let’s check out some of its amazing pictures here.
The most enticing aspect of the new F850 GS is its pricing. The motorcycle is now available only in the Pro variant at Rs 12.50 lakh which is about Rs 1.90 lakh lesser than the same variant of the BS4 model.
The motorcycle now comes equipped with BMW’s Pro package as standard which was previously available as an option for an additional cost.
Amongst the host of electronic goodies, the Pro package offers customizable riding modes which allow the rider to set the behaviour of ABS, TC, engine braking, and throttle response as per their liking.
To make your rides more pleasant, BMW has also incorporated a quick shifter, cruise control, heated grips, keyless ignition, USB charging socket, and a luggage rack for the mile-munching enthusiasts.
The main party piece here is the semi-active suspension setup which allows the rider to adjust different aspects of the suspension on the fly. Plus, different characteristics of the springs are automatically set depending on the selected riding mode.
The engine of the F850 GS has remained the same, except for the revisions to make it more environment-friendly. The 853cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine continues to churn out 95bhp of power and 92Nm of peak torque.
As for the BMW F850 GS’ competition, it goes up against the likes of the Triumph Tiger 900 and the Ducati Multistrada V2 in India.
