Ducati has revealed the Euro5-compliant Hypermotard range, and the updated series could reach the Indian market in the distant future. While we await the India launch, here we explain all the details about the motorcycle.
Engine
The 2022 Hypermotard range gets mechanical upgrades to comply with the newest, more stringent emission norms. Despite complying with the Euro5-emission standards, the 937cc Ducati Testastretta 11-degree V-twin-cylinder engine continues to deliver 112.4bhp of power at 9,000rpm and 96Nm of peak torque at 7,250rpm. The power and torque output numbers are similar to the Euro4 version of the motorcycle. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycles are also available in a depowered version for A2 license holders in the European markets.
Design
The 2022 Hypermotard range comprises three variants – Hypermotard 950, Hypermotard 950 RVE, and Hypermotard 950 SP. All variants of the motorcycle feature a similar design. The styling cues include a twin under-seat exhaust setup, minimal bodywork, a trellis frame, a trellis sub-frame, a wide handlebar, a flat seat, and 17-inch wheels. The knuckleguards on all three variants come with integrated LED blinkers.
Colours
The three variants, which feature a red base paint, are distinguished through their respective graphics. The standard Hypermotard 950 comes in Ducati Red colour scheme. The Hypermotard 950 RVE, on the other hand, gets a “Graffiti” livery. The range-topping Hypermotard 950 SP gets the new “SP” colour.
Features
The motorcycle range includes LED lighting, a 4.3-inch TFT display, tapered aluminium handlebar, removable passenger footpegs, and a USB power socket. The electronic rider aids, which work with Bosch six-axis inertial platform, include riding modes, cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and power modes on all three variants. The RVE edition further benefits from a bidirectional quickshifter. The range-topping, SP variant gets a carbon-fibre front mudguard and timing belt cover.
Hardware
The suspension setup on the standard and RVE variant includes fully-adjustable, 45mm Marzocchi upside-down front forks and a preload and rebound damping-adjustable Sachs rear mono-shock. The SP variant, on the other hand, uses Ohlins-sourced 48mm upside-down front forks and an Ohlins rear mono-shock – both fully adjustable. The braking setup includes twin rotors at the front and a single disc at the back. The SP version also gets Marchesini forged wheels.
