- Both were unveiled earlier this month
- Sold out within a few days of going on sale
- Each of the 520 units costs $63,000 (Rs 52.16 lakh)
A few days back, Ducati rolled out two special edition models of the Panigale V4 to celebrate its victory in the 2022 MotoGP and WorldSBK racing championships. The company had announced that only 520 units of these will ever be manufactured and sold at $63,000 (approximately Rs 52.16 lakh) each. If you think that pricing is exorbitant, you’ll be surprised to know that all the bikes have already been sold out, within a couple of days of going on sale.
This is the first time Ducati won MotoGP and WSBK titles both in a year. To celebrate the achievement, it adorned the two special edition models of the Panigale V4 S with liveries inspired by the Desmosedici GP and Panigale VR4 race machines. Interestingly, Ducati has named them after their respective race pilots - Francesco Bagnaia and Alvaro Bautista. While both bikes look stunning visually, there are a bunch of exotic components which make them even more special.
Similar to race bikes, these machines get a single seat along with a billet aluminium upper clamp with laser engraving of the model name and the bike’s number. This is accompanied by a bunch of exotic bits like STM-EVO SBK dry clutch, Akrapovic exhaust, Brembo brakes with Stylema callipers, Rizoma billet aluminium adjustable footpegs, racing plexiglass, and some carbon-fibre elements.
Every owner of these bikes will get a certificate of authenticity, a custom bike cover and the Ducati Data Analyser with the original autograph of the champions on the fuel tank.
