- 2022 Honda CB300R BS6 launch date revealed
- To be introduced on 4 December at 2021 IBW
- Likely to remain the same in terms of design and features
The Honda CB300R is one of the few motorcycles which faced the axe during the BS6 transition and wasn’t updated as per the new emission norms. However, that is all set to change soon. Honda is prepping to launch the new 2022 edition of the CB300R on 4 December at the 2021 India Bike Week.
The naked street bike is likely to carry the same neo-retro styling with a round headlamp with a silver bezel, a sculpted fuel tank, tiny radiator cowls, and a stubby exhaust canister. The feature list might also be the same with a full-LED lighting setup along with a blue backlit LCD instrument cluster. However, we expect the motorcycle to be available in new colour options along with some decals.
The biggest change will come in the form of a revised BS6-compliant engine. In the BS4 avatar, this 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine churns out 30bhp and 27.4Nm. In the process of containing the emission of pollutants, the power and torque figures may have witnessed a mild change now. Nevertheless, the six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch will be retained.
The BS4 model of the Honda CB300R was priced a bit high at Rs 2.41 lakh (ex-showroom) since it came to India as a CKD (completely knocked down) unit. However, it remains to be seen if Honda continues to do the same or manufactures it locally to bring the prices down.
