The Honda CB300R was recently launched in India with a few updates over the previous model that was discontinued in 2019. So here, let us tell you what is new about the motorcycle.
Pricing
The new Honda CB300R has been priced at Rs 2.77 lakh, ex-showroom. That puts it at a significant increase of Rs 36,000 over the previous pricing of Rs 2.41 lakh. And this hike in pricing is surprising as Honda has localised sourcing of the motorcycle’s components.
Minimally changed design
The 2022 CB300R continues with the same compact streetfighter design as the previous model. In fact, it looks strikingly similar to the bigger CB1000R. And for the new model, Honda has only altered the design of the exhaust canister, making it more angular than before. The rest of the bodywork remains the same as the 2019 model.
New colours
However, Honda has adorned the motorcycle with new colours to bring some kind of freshness to the package. There is a Pearl Spartan Red paint job that comes with matte black finished headlamp cowl and radiator shrouds. These components are finished in glossy black for the Matte Steel colour option. Moreover, both colour options come with copper finish on the end can shields.
Slightly revised engine
The CB300R is powered by a 286cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder engine that is now BS6 compliant. It produces 31.1bhp at 9,000rpm; slightly more than the BS4 version which offered 30.4bhp at 8,000rpm. The torque figure remains at 27.5Nm.
Revised hardware
Now, the previous CB300R came with Showa-sourced USD forks and Michelin Pilot Street rubber. However, the new CB300R misses out on the Showa forks and rides on MRF RevZ tyres instead.
