- Gets three new colours
- Fuel-injection system gets revised setting
- Features lighter wheels
The Honda CB500F middleweight roadster has received revisions to the hardware for 2022. The latest iteration of the motorcycle gets updated suspension and braking setup. The 2022 model also gets three new colours. The Grand Prix Red colour is joined by Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Pearl Smokey Gray, and Pearl Dusk Yellow.
The hardware on the 2022 CB500F, similar to the fully-faired CBR500R, includes 41mm Showa Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP) USD forks and a rear mono-shock to handle the suspension tasks. The braking duties are now handled by twin discs at the front instead of a single rotor setup on the previous CB500F. The anchoring hardware at the rear continues to use a single disc.
The mechanical specifications retain the 471cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. Honda claims to have updated the fuel-injection settings to improve torque feel. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor is tuned to deliver 46.9bhp at 8,600rpm and 43Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.
Although the feature list is similar to the 2021 version, the MY22 CB500F gets an updated LED headlight that is claimed to deliver improved illumination. Other upgrades include lighter wheels and a new radiator design.
