- 2022 CB500X gets new colour and updated graphics
- New model includes Showa upside-down front forks
- Gets more powerful LED headlight
The Honda CB500X has received several cosmetic and mechanical upgrades for 2022. The list of upgrades comprises a new suspension setup, redesigned front wheel, lighter radiator, updated colour palette, new graphics, and a more powerful LED headlight. The motorcycle retains features such as digital instrument cluster with Shift Up and Gear Position function and full-LED lighting. The 2022 iteration of the middleweight adventure tourer is now available in two colours – Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic and Pearl Organic Green (new for 2022).
The updated hardware on the 2022 model includes preload-adjustable Showa 41mm Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP) upside-down forks at the front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the back. Moreover, the company has added a new setting to the rear shock to complement the updated front forks. The suspension setup on both ends features a 135mm axle travel.
The braking setup, too, gets an upgrade. The anchoring tasks at the front are now handled by dual 296mm wave-pattern discs instead of the single 310mm wave-pattern disc on the old model. The safety net comprises dual-channel ABS. The 2022 model rides on lightweight wheels that feature new thinner spokes and a redesigned swingarm.
The mechanical specifications retain the 471cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that continues to make 46.9bhp at 8,600rpm and 43Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox. While the power and torque output numbers remain unaltered, the company claims that the new settings improve torque feel and character.
