- 2022 Honda Gold Wing launched
- Gets a car-like airbag safety system
- Available only with the DCT transmission option
Honda has launched the 2022 edition of its touring motorcycle, the Gold Wing Tour, in India. The new model year doesn’t get any real update, apart from the marginal price hike and the manual transmission version being ditched for this year. Priced at Rs 39.20 lakh, the motorcycle is now around Rs 4,000 more expensive and will be available as a CBU (completely built-up) model. Bookings for the motorcycle are already open.
The edgy, imposing and elegant styling of the Gold Wing has been left untouched. And the same goes for its utterly long feature list as well. There’s full-LED lighting with auto-cancelling turn indicators, a 7-inch full-colour TFT dash with a navigation system, speakers with passenger audio controls, USB Type-C ports, and an electronically-adjustable windscreen.
The electronic rider's aids available with the Gold Wing include cruise control, throttle by wire set-up, traction control system, hill start assist, and four riding models including tour, sport, econ, and rain. Coming to the powerplant, this behemoth is propelled by a 1,833cc, liquid-cooled engine with six cylinders and 24 valves. This mill comes mated to a DCT (dual-clutch transmission) system and belts out 124.7bhp of power and 170Nm. It is based on a diecast, aluminium twin-beam frame that is suspended by double-wishbone front suspension and a pro-arm swingarm at the rear.
The 2022 Honda Gold Wing Tour DCT is available exclusively at Honda’s BigWing Topline dealerships present in Gurugram, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Indore, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Chennai.
