The Indian Chief Dark Horse received an update for 2022 and we got to live with the motorcycle for a few days. To read the detailed review of the motorcycle, head here. As of now, let’s take you through some of its stunning visuals captured by our lensman.
The Chief Dark Horse has shed a lot of body panels which lends it a lot more minimalistic look. However, the all-black theme has been retained making it look properly stealth.
The most notable visual highlights of the bike include the fully-exposed chassis, chopped rear fender showing off the chunky tyre, dual shotgun-style exhausts, and a number of ‘Indian’ badging on several parts.
The motorcycle also gets a fancy, circular TFT instrument cluster which shows a lot of data in a legible format. While the visibility is decent even under direct sun, the brightness of the dash can be adjusted.
This console can also be connected to the rider’s smartphone for accessing navigation, receiving calls, and controlling the music being played on the phone.
Powering the Chief Dark Horse is a humungous 1,890cc, V-twin, air-cooled engine that Indian calls the Thunderstroke 116. It produces a staggering 162Nm of peak torque at as low as 3,200rpm.
While it misses out on traction control, there are three riding modes including touring, standard, and sport. These modes alter the throttle response while keeping the power and torque unchanged.
The motorcycle rides on alloy wheels with 19-inch and 16-inch diameters at the front and rear, respectively. The suspension setup includes 132mm telescopic forks upfront and 75mm preload-adjustable dual shocks at the rear.
In its stock form, the Indian Chief Dark Horse is priced at Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It can be equipped with touring-oriented accessories which only increase its price further.
