Kawasaki has launched its 2022 Dual-Sport and Supermoto model range in the US. The whole lineup has a total of six motorcycles with two engine configurations. The model range includes the KLX 300, KLX 300SM, KLR 650, KLR 650 ABS, KLR 650 Traveller ABS and KLR 650 Adventure Non-ABS/ABS.
The KLX 300 is the flagship motorcycle in the KLX lineup. The dual-sport motorcycle draws its cues from the KLX off-road line as well as the ADV KLR 650. Powering this motorcycle is a 292cc liquid-cooled four-stroke FI engine that features an electric starter. This engine is coupled to a six-speed gearbox that is used to transmit power to its wheels. The ride here is taken care of by dual-sport tuned long-travel suspension. Meanwhile, the bike is equipped with a 21-inch wheel at the front and an 18-inch wheel at the rear. It is available in two colour options: Lime Green and Fragment Camo Gray. Its priced at USD 5,599 (Rs 4.09 lakh).
The 2022 KLX300SM is a supermoto model. It shares a similar engine and chassis with the KLX300. To differentiate it, the KLX300SM comes with supermoto inspired components that include 17-inch wheels at both ends wrapped with street tyres, supermoto tuned suspension and aggressive styling. It's offered in two colour options: Lime Green/Ebony and Oriental Blue/Ebony. Its retail price is kept at USD 5,999 (Rs 4.38 lakh).
Kawasaki has also updated the KLR650. The new 2022 model updates include a new digital instrument cluster, redesigned fuel tank, taller two-position adjustable windshield, increased generator capacity, larger aluminium rear carrier and a new LED headlight setup. It further comes with features like ABS, factory-installed side case LED auxiliary light set, engine guards, tank pad, DC power outlet and USB socket.
The company is also offering additional trims for the KLR650. The Non-ABS variant is priced at USD 6,699 (Rs 4.89 lakh) and is available in two colour options: Pearl Sand Khaki and Pearl Lava Orange. Meanwhile, the ABS variant is priced at USD 6,999 (Rs 5.11 lakh) and is available in only one colour option, Pearl Sand Khaki. There's also a Traveller ABS variant on offer that comes in Pearl Laval Orange colour and is priced at USD 7,399 (Rs 5.41 lakh). The final and the most expensive variant here is the Adventure that is offered in Cypher Camo Gray colour option. The prices of the same are as follows:
KLR650 Adventure Non-ABS: USD 7,699 (Rs 5.62 lakh).
KLR650 Adventure ABS: USD 7,999 (Rs 5.84 lakh).
While Kawasaki has introduced these products in the US, they are not likely to reach India anytime soon.
