Kawasaki has launched its 2022 KLX off-road model range in the US. The whole lineup has a total of eight motorcycles with four engine configurations. The model range includes 300R, 230R, 230R S, 140R, 140R L, 140RF, 110R and 110R L.
The KLX 300R is the flagship motorcycle of the KLX lineup. It's powered by a 292cc liquid-cooled four-stroke FI engine that comes mated to a six-speed transmission. It further comes with features like an electric starter and keyless ignition. The KLX 300R is equipped with a 21-inch wheel at the front and an 18-inch wheel at the rear wrapped with off-road tyres. It is only available in a Lime Green colour and is priced at USD 5,599 (Rs 4.09 lakh).
The KLX 230R is available with two variants on offer. At its heart sits a 233cc air-cooled four-stroke FI engine that is coupled to a six-speed transmission. The features and hardware on this model are quite similar to the one used on the KLX 300R. There's also a shorter KLX 230R S variant on offer. This variant is offered for customers who are looking for a lower seat height version. This S variant features a modified front and rear suspension that lowers the overall seat height by an inch as compared to the KLX230R. Both these variants are priced at USD 4,499 (Rs 3.28 lakh) and are offered only in a Lime Green colour.
The KLX 140R is available with three variants on offer. Powering the off-road motorcycle is a 144cc four-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder engine that comes paired with a five-speed transmission. The KLX 140R gets a 17-inch wheel at the front and a 14-wheel at the rear. The KLX 140R L variant is further offered to provide better ground clearance and is differentiated by using a 19-inch wheel at the front and a 16-inch wheel at the rear. Meanwhile, the KLX 140R F comes equipped with a 21-inch wheel at the front and an 18-wheel at the rear. All three variants are offered in a Lime Green colour. Their respective prices are as follows:
KLX 140R: USD 3,199 (Rs 2.34 lakh)
KLX 140R L: USD 3,499 (Rs 2.56 lakh)
KLX 140R F: USD 3,799 (Rs 2.77 lakh)
The KLX 110R is the most compact motorcycle in the KLX model range, and it has two variants on offer. This off-road motorcycle draws power from a 112cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine that sits in a high-tensile steel frame and is mated to an automatic centrifugal clutch system for shifting through the gears. The ride here is taken care of by 30mm telescopic forks at the front and a single shock absorber at the rear. To differentiate the larger KLX110R L variant, it gets taller seat height, longer suspension travel, an extra 48.26mm of ground clearance and a four-speed transmission with a manual clutch. Both these variants are offered in a Lime Green colour. Their respective prices are as follows:
KLX 110R: USD 2,399 (Rs 1.75 lakh)
KLX 110R L: USD 2,599 (Rs 1.90 lakh).
While Kawasaki has introduced these products in the US, they are not likely to reach India anytime soon.
