Kawasaki India has commenced the deliveries of the 2022 Ninja 400 BS6 in our market. This premium, sub-500cc motorcycle was launched in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 4.99 lakh, making it nearly Rs 1,59,000 more expensive than the Ninja 300 BS6. This price premium brings a bigger engine and more features to the Ninja 400 over its 300cc sibling.
The mechanical specifications include a 399cc, parallel-twin motor that churns out 44bhp and 37Nm of peak torque. This engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox. Although the power output remains unchanged, the torque has come down by 1Nm over the previous model.
The colour choices for the 2022 Ninja 400 include Lime Green with Ebony and Metallic Carbon Gray with green highlights. And the styling cues include an aggressively designed twin-pod LED headlight, full-fairing, a muscular fuel tank, and split-style seats.
The hardware comprises 41mm telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock to handle the suspension tasks. Whereas, the braking duties are handled by a single 310mm disc at the front and a single 220mm rotor at the back.
The direct threat to the 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 400 is the KTM RC390 which packs more features and retails at a much lower price tag of Rs 3.16 lakh.
