- Kawasaki has updated the engine with Euro5/BS6 norms
- The Ninja 400 is back on sale overseas with the Z400
- Both bikes get new paint schemes too
Kawasaki has launched the Ninja 400 and the Z400 in Europe with some significant changes. Both bikes now adhere to the Euro5 (similar to BS6) norms and pack a cleaner motor.
The Japanese twins now draw power from a greener, liquid-cooled, 399cc parallel-twin motor with the output rated at 44bhp and 37Nm (1Nm lower than before). The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and also gets a slipper clutch.
Kawasaki has made no tweaks to the design but the paint scheme has been altered for both the models. The Ninja 400’s panels are draped in green and the Z400 gets dual-tone paint of green and black. There are other colour options too.
Kawasaki has also retained the underpinnings for the two bikes. You get the same suspension and braking hardware. The asking price for the 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 400 in Europe is set to 6,250 Pounds (approximately Rs 6.04 lakh). Meanwhile, the Z400 costs 6000 Pounds (approximately Rs 5.8 lakh).
As per Kawasaki India, there are no plans of getting either of the bikes to India anytime soon.
