- Recall notice announced in the USA
- Nearly 200 units of the motorcycle affected by this recall
- Kawasaki to rectify the issue free of charge
Kawasaki Motors has recalled certain 2022 Ninja H2 SX SE (ZX1002R) motorcycles in the USA over a display error. According to the recall notice, a software error may cause the motorcycle speed display to fail which can increase the risk of a crash or injury. With this error, these vehicles now fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 123, Motorcycle Controls and Displays, and thus they have been recalled to rectify the issue.
Kawasaki dealers across the country will update the meter software free of charge. However, the manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification. This recall affects nearly 200 units of the sports tourer motorcycle.
The affected vehicles containing the problem are certain 2022 ZX1002R (Kawasaki/Ninja H2 SX SE/200) models. The recall number was determined by the start and end production dates for the models affected.
