- 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R launched
- Comes in two new colours now
- Remains unchanged mechanically
Kawasaki has launched the new 2022 edition of its litre-class sportbike, the Ninja ZX-10R, in India. For the new model year, the Japanese bike maker has introduced two new colour options including Lime Green and Metallic Diablo Black. For the new colours and graphics, buyers will have to pay a premium of Rs 15,000 over the previous model since this edition has been pegged at Rs 15.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Ninja ZX-10R received its long-due major makeover just early this year. It sports a new styling that’s majorly inspired by the Ninja H2. It not only looks more aggressive and radical but the aerodynamics have also been improved by incorporating a large central air intake and winglets. This bestows the motorcycle with 17 per cent downforce.
The list of electronic aids is pretty long and comprehensive with goodies like electronic cruise control, five-stage traction control, launch control, cornering ABS, engine brake control, and three riding modes with four customisable modes. All the information is shown on a full-colour TFT dash that features Bluetooth connectivity for smartphone pairing.
The previous update had also brought along changes in its engine including revised gear ratios, a new oil cooler, a revised exhaust system and electronic throttle valves. This 998cc, inline four-cylinder engine now churns out 200bhp and 114Nm. With the inclusion of the Ram Air setup, this can be boosted further by 10bhp. A set of high-end cycle parts comprising Brembo brakes and Showa suspension completes the package.
