- Available in two colours
- Gets revised styling and new features
- Priced at Rs 7,36,000
Kawasaki India has commenced the deliveries of the 2022 Versys 650 in our market. The latest iteration of the middleweight sports adventure-tourer, which was unveiled at the 2021 EICMA motorcycle show in Italy, was launched in the Indian market in June this year. The motorcycle is available in a single variant and two colour options. It is priced at Rs 7,36,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it Rs 21,000 dearer than its predecessor.
The updates to the motorcycle comprise styling changes that come in the form of a revised front fascia. The 2022 Versys 650 draws styling cues from the company’s litre-class sports adventure tourer, the Versys 1000. Thus, it packs a sharper look to the twin-pod headlight and the fairing. Further, the 2022 version also gets a redesigned windscreen with a revised adjustment mechanism and a colour-TFT display.
Styling elements retained from the previous model include a 21-litre fuel tank, single-piece step-up seat, 17-inch alloy wheels, an aluminium swingarm, and an underbelly exhaust. The revised feature list includes full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled colour-TFT display, and new switchgear. Kawasaki India will offer the 2022 Versys 650 in two colours – Lime Green and Metallic Phantom Silver.
The mechanical specifications remain unaltered and the 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 retains the BS6-compliant 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine from its predecessor. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor produces 65.7bhp at 8,500rpm and 61Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm.
The 2022 Versys 650 rivals the likes of the Suzuki V-Strom 650XT and the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 in the Indian market.
