Kawasaki India is likely to launch the 2022 Versys 650 very soon. Compared to the older model, the updated one has been tweaked on a few fronts including cosmetics and features. Let’s take a close look at the 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 and see what it has to offer.
The first and the most predictable change for the 2022 Versys 650 is its fascia. Given the fact that the Ninja 650, Ninja 1000, and Versys 1000 received a new front end, the middleweight ADV had to follow the trend.
Its split LED headlights have been redesigned with a sharper looking unit. Even the transparent visor has been tweaked to go well on the lines of the headlight cowl. With that being said, the remaining bodywork looks similar to the outgoing model.
Kawasaki has plonked the same 649cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled motor in the 2022 model. It develops the same output figures too – 66bhp and 61Nm. Even the gearbox and the chassis have been retained.
However, the bike now gets a traction control system and Bluetooth connectivity along with the dual-channel ABS. The old instrument console has made way for a new TFT unit.
Similar to the 2021 model, the 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 is also suspended on 41mm USD forks and an off-set preload-adjustable rear shock.
The braking hardware comprises a pair of 300mm front discs and a 250mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. Both are mounted on 17-inch alloys wrapped in 120/70 front and 160/60 rear tyres.
The bike weighs 219kg and gets a fuel tank of 20.8-litres.
We expect Kawasaki India to price the 2022 Versys 650 between Rs 7.50 - 7.60 lakh (ex-showroom). That’s about Rs 40,000 - 50,000 more than the current model.
