- Gets an updated fascia
- Packs more features than before
- Is powered by the same engine
Kawasaki has finally launched the 2022 Versys 650 in India and it’s priced at Rs 7,36,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Compared to the previous model, the updated one costs Rs 21,000 more. Here’s what it offers.
The 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 features a new and sharper split LED headlight design. Even the adjustable visor has been tweaked to gel better with the overall design. The engine cowl has also been altered to look a bit sharp. That said, the bike has been updated on the feature front too.
It now gets a TFT instrument cluster instead of the previous part digital unit. The new setup is Bluetooth compatible and gets smartphone connectivity too. The 2022 Versys 650 gets a USB charging port too. On the safety front, Kawasaki has now equipped its middleweight ADV with a two-level traction control system.
That said, the 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 gets the same 649cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder motor as before. It continues to dish out 66bhp and 61Nm. Even the suspension, braking hardware, and wheels have been retained from the older model.
Considering the set of changes on the new model, the premium doesn’t seem too high. However, the list of foes for the Kawasaki Versys now has new names like the Triumph Tiger Sport 660, Honda CB500X and the off-road friendly Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT.
