- Gets updated design and new features
Kawasaki India has released a teaser image of the 2022 Versys 650 ahead of its launch in our market that is scheduled to take place today, 27 June, 2022. The teaser image shows the updated headlight on the upcoming middleweight adventure tourer along with the launch details. Earlier, the Indian arm of the Japanese manufacturer was offering heavy discounts on the outgoing version ahead of the 2022 Versys 650 launch. The motorcycle was available with a Rs 70,000 discount.
To give you a quick recap, the 2022 iteration benefits from an updated design and newer features. The upgrades include a Versys 1000-inspired full-LED headlight, Bluetooth-enabled colour-TFT display, a revised mechanism for windscreen adjustment, and a two-level traction control system. The 2022 version also benefits from revised graphics.
The specifications, on the other hand, remain unchanged and the 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 retains the 649cc, parallel-twin engine. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the motor is tuned to produce a 64.8bhp and 60.7Nm of peak torque. The chassis, suspension, and braking hardware, too, remains unaltered. How does the setup work? The 2022 Versys 650 will carry a price premium over its predecessor. While the official pricing will be revealed at the launch, we expect the new model to retail in the Rs 7.50 - 7.60 lakh (ex-showroom) price range.
