The 2022 KTM 390 Adventure has started to arrive at the dealerships and we expect to hear a launch announcement very soon. While we await the launch details, here we tell you what to expect from the India-bound 2022 KTM 390 Adventure.
Same styling but new colours
While the overall styling remains similar to the outgoing version, KTM has updated the colour palette for 2022. Internationally, the latest iteration of the 390 Adventure is available in two colours – orange/blue and orange/grey. We expect to see both colours in the Indian market as well. The design, as mentioned before, remains unaltered. Thus, the 2022 KTM 390 Adventure retains the split-style LED headlight at the front, a short windscreen and air deflectors, a muscular fuel tank, split-style seats, and a side-slung exhaust.
Improved features
The 2022 390 Adventure also gets an update to the electronics package. This update comes in the form of an updated traction control system. The MY22 390 Adventure gets two-level traction control (Off-road and Street) instead of one on the old model. KTM claims that the updated traction control system gives the 390 Adventure a degree of rear wheel slip to enable easier use of the bike in loose or wet terrain. Furthermore, unlike the outgoing version, the Off-road traction control mode on the MY22 motorcycle will remain activated in the event of a brief stall or fall. The safety net retained from the outgoing version includes lean-sensitive ABS and traction control.
Same BS6-compliant engine
The mechanical specifications remain unaltered, and the 2022 390 Adventure continues to use the BS6-compliant, 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 42.3bhp of maximum power at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. The India-spec model, similar to the outgoing version, should retain the quickshifter as standard.
Few hardware changes
While the hardware remains similar to the old model, KTM claims to have improved the quality and robustness of the alloy wheels. The 2022 model continues to ride on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels. Unlike the international-spec 390 Adventure, the India-bound 390 Adventure will continue to use non-adjustable front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. The international model, for reference, gets adjustable front forks and rear mono-shock. The anchoring hardware will retain 320mm and 280mm discs at the front and back, respectively.
Expected price
The 2022 KTM 390 Adventure has started to arrive at the Indian dealerships and thus a launch announcement is around the corner. We expect the adventure tourer to arrive at the same price tag as the outgoing version as an introductory offer before the company revises the prices. The old model, for reference, was sold at Rs 3.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
