- 2022 KTM RC 200 reaches dealerships
- Priced the same as the previous model
- Deliveries will commence soon
After unveiling the 2022 RC series in the international markets, KTM has recently launched the new RC 200 in India. In fact, the fully-faired motorcycle has even reached select dealerships in the country. KTM has priced the bike at Rs 2.09 lakh (ex-showroom) which is the same as the previous model. Notably, this is the introductory price and it might receive a hike soon.
To give us a taste of the supersport, KTM had recently invited us to Bajaj’s Chakan facility to test ride the bike. You can read our detailed take on the bike here. As it was expected, the 2022 RC 200 left us majorly impressed. Most of the changes executed in the bike truly work in its favour by making it more approachable and friendlier as compared to its predecessor.
The design of the motorcycle has been heavily revised and it takes inspiration from KTM’s MotoGP racing machine now. It not only looks bigger and more muscular but the aerodynamics have also been improved. On the feature front, the 2022 RC 200 now gets a new LED headlamp, a larger LCD console, and dual-channel ABS with the option to switch off the ABS at the rear.
On the performance front, KTM has equipped the new RC 200 with a larger airbox for allowing it to take in more air and breathe more freely. The has resulted in a noticeable improvement in its throttle response. However, the main powerplant has remained the same 199.5cc, liquid-cooled unit that pumps out 25.4bhp and 19.5Nm while being mated to a six-speed gearbox.
In the Indian market, the closest rival to the 2022 KTM RC 200 is the recently launched Yamaha YZF R15 V4. We have ridden the latter too and you can read its first ride review here.
