2022 KTM RC390 to be launched in India soon

- KTM RC 390 India launch likely in December

- 2022 model gets a complete makeover

- Likely to get a quickshifter system as standard

KTM India has confirmed via its social media handles that the 2022 RC 390 will be launched in our market very soon. While the company has not disclosed a launch date, we expect this new model to arrive in India this month. The new KTM RC 390 is already available in select international markets. However, the India-spec model could be slightly different from the international variant.

The 2022 KTM RC 390 gets a major styling makeover, and the new model features a redesigned front fascia. The updated design brings a single-pod headlight to the front as against the projector-style units on the old model. The front fascia also features fairing-mounted rear-view mirrors and an updated turn indicator setup. Other updates include a sharper fairing design, a 13.7-litre fuel tank, a redesigned tail section, and a side-slung exhaust.

The standard feature list on the India-spec KTM RC 390 will most likely include full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled colour-TFT display, switchable ABS, a lean-angle sensitive cornering ABS, cornering traction control, and the Quickshifter+.

The hardware on the international-spec model comprises compression and rebound adjustable 43mm WP APEX front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. The India-spec model, however, may miss the suspension adjustability function for the front forks. The braking setup includes a 320mm single disc with a radially mounted four-piston-fixed ByBre calliper at the front and a 230mm disc brake with a single-piston fixed calliper at the rear.

The mechanical specifications retain the 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled setup although it benefits from a new engine mapping and a redesigned airbox. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox that features a slipper clutch mechanism.

The company should introduce this model at an aggressive introductory price tag that could be very close to the old motorcycle’s Rs 2.78 lakh (ex-showroom) level.
