TVS Motor Company has launched the 2022 Apache RTR 160 in the Indian market with prices starting at Rs 1,17,790. The motorcycle will be sold in three variants – Drum, Disc, and Disc with Bluetooth. All variants are available in five colours – Gloss Black, Pearl White, Racing Red, Matte Blue, and T-Grey. Apart from the colour palette, TVS Motor Company has also updated the graphics for this 2022 iteration. These graphics are visible on the fuel tank, front fender, and rear panels.
The company has also added new features to the motorcycle, and the 2022 Apache RTR 160 now comes with the TVS SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity module and a revised user interface. This feature, however, is available on the top-of-the-line version only. Further, the mid- and the top-variants get dual-channel ABS. The base model, on the other hand, uses a drum brake at the rear and a single-channel ABS. Other features on the motorcycle include an LED headlight with LED DRLs, LED taillight, and three ride modes.
The mechanical specifications retain the 159.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that now makes 15.8bhp at 8,750rpm and 13.85Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. In comparison, the previous model made 15.3bhp and 13.9Nm of peak torque. The motor is linked to a five-speed gearbox.
The 2022 Apache RTR 160 rivals the Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Pulsar N160, Hero Xtreme 160R, and the likes in the Indian market.
