Yamaha has unveiled the 2022 iteration of its 155cc maxi-scooter, the Aerox 155 for the Indonesian market. The company already offers the 2021 Aerox in India and thus we expect the 2022 iteration to reach our market later this year. While we await more details about the 2022 Yamaha Aerox 155 India launch, here we explain the top details of the maxi-scooter.
New Colours
The 2022 Yamaha Aerox 155 gets a makeover in the form of new colours. The maxi-scooter gets six new colours in the international markets. Unlike the Indian market, the Aerox is available in two variants in Indonesia – ABS and Connected. The ABS variant is available in two colours – Matte Black Gold and Matte White Gold. The Connected version, on the other hand, gets four new paint options – Matte Black Cyan, Dark Grey Yellow, Black with Red highlights, and Red with contrasting Black bodywork.
Same Design
The styling revisions are limited to addition of the new paint options. The design, on the other hand, remains unaltered. Thus, the 2022 Yamaha Aerox 155 continues to pack styling elements such as an apron-mounted twin-pod headlight, a tinted fly-screen, split-style footboard, a step-up seat, a side-sling exhaust, and body-panel-integrated pillion grabrails.
Features
The feature list, too, remains unchanged and the 2022 Yamaha Aerox continues to pack an LED headlight, LED taillight, and a digital instrument cluster. The safety net on the premium variant includes ABS. The India-spec model will get ABS as standard to comply with the safety norms here.
Similar Specifications
The Yamaha Aerox 155 also retains the 155cc, liquid-cooled engine with VVA tech. Linked to a CVT gearbox, the motor is tuned to deliver a healthy 14.79bhp of maximum power at 8,000rpm and 13.9Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.
Hardware
The suspension tasks on the Aerox 155 are handled by telescopic forks at the front and twin-sided springs at the back. The braking setup includes a 230mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum setup at the back. The maxi-scooter rides on 14-inch alloy wheels that are shod in 110/80-section and 140/70-section tyres at the front and the back, respectively.
