The FZ 25 is Yamaha’s only high capacity motorcycle other than the litre-class R1, of course. And it recently received an upgrade for 2022. Well, let us take a look at everything you need to know about the updated Yamaha FZ 25.
New colours
The Yamaha FZ 25 sports an edgy appeal with large, faux air-scoops on either side of the muscular fuel tank, a split seat setup with faux-air ducts on the rear panel too. Even the front end, with the LED DRL and LED projector headlamp, looks radical and cool. The FZS 25, adds a bit of flair with its knuckle guards and windscreen.
But all of it isn’t new to the 2022 Yamaha FZ 25. What is new, is the colour schemes. The FZS 25 comes in Matte Copper paint and Matte Black. Both these options come with golden graphics to match the golden wheels. However, the standard FZ 25 gets no cosmetic change. It continues with the Racing Blue and Metallic Black colour and blacked-out wheels.
Same engine
That said, Yamaha has kept the engine on the FZ 25 untouched. It uses a 249cc, single-cylinder engine that is capable of churning out 20.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 20.1Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The motor comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.
Decently equipped
Well, as compared to its competitor, the KTM 250 Duke, the features offered on the Yamaha FZ 25 are decent. It gets a full-LED projector headlamp and DRL along with an LED tail lamp. While its negative LCD instrument cluster does look dated, it keeps things simple and does the job. Moreover, the FZ 25 also comes with engine cut off and dual-channel ABS as standard.
Pricing
Yamaha has priced the 2022 FZ 25 at Rs 1.38 lakh. Meanwhile, the FZS 25 comes in at Rs 1.43 lakh. In comparison, the KTM 250 Duke is priced at Rs 2.28 lakh, but boasts of a performance focused engine and slightly premium cycle parts.
