Yamaha’s smallest product from its globally popular XSR range has received special treatment for 2022 in Europe. The Japanese bike maker has unveiled the new Legacy Edition of the XSR125 in the continent and it gets a couple of cosmetic add-ons that differentiate it from the base model. Let’s see what these add-ons are through this image gallery.
Firstly, the XSR125 is already a stunner with its tasteful neo-retro design theme. The round headlamp, tubular handlebar, rounded fuel tank and clean tail - all make it a true eye candy.
What sets the Legacy Edition further apart is the Historic Black paint scheme which, as the name suggests, gets most of the components like the engine, handlebar, and chassis finished in black.
Further enhancing its visual appeal are golden and silver pinstripes on the fuel tank along with gold-coloured spoke wheels.
The exhaust canister of the motorcycle is also different from the standard model. The Legacy edition gets a two-piece muffler with a brushed aluminium finish.
Completing the changes is the inclusion of Metzeler Karoo block pattern tyres which don’t just look purposeful but must also be quite grippy.
Propelling the XSR125 is a 125cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes around 14.8bhp of peak power at 10,000rpm and peak torque of 11.5Nm at 8000rpm. This is the same motor that does duty on the MT125.
Yamaha has priced the XSR125 Legacy Edition quite exorbitantly for a 125cc bike. In Europe, it costs Rs £4,950 (approximately Rs 4.9 lakh). Unfortunately, the motorcycle won’t be launched in India, at least not anytime soon.
