- BMW R120GS, R1250GS Adventure recalled in Europe
- Issue with fuel lines
- Will be fixed free of charge
BMW Motorrad has issued a recall for a few of its 2023 motorcycles. The issue concerns the bikes' fuel line; only a few bikes have been affected.
According to the recall notice, the R1250 GS and the R1250GS Adventure are a part of this recall. The affected bikes have been manufactured over 12 days between 2 March 2023 and 16 March 2023. The German brand said a possible fuel leakage could occur when the bike is ridden. This is a result of a faulty pressure sensor in the fuel rail. The rider could smell the fuel in case there's a leakage. This recall is not related to the safety of the bike or the rider but is more related to environmental damages.
Currently, the affected bikes have been reported in a few European countries. There still needs to be more information on whether these bikes made it to India. The German brand will contact the affected customers and ask them to bring the bike to the nearest SVC, where the fuel line will be checked for a potential leak. BMW will fix this issue free of charge.
